Book Review: The Hybrid Trilogy

Since I am reading almost all the books written by G.K. DeRosa, The Hybrid Trilogy is next in line in my reading wishlist. Again this is a spin-off series from The Guardian Series, which I quickly read after the first few pages on book #1 Magic Bound. Again I felt like I was missing crucial information. I stopped reading The Guardian Series after book number 1, I am not a fan of this series. On the other hand I have to tell you that I loved reading The Hybrid Trilogy – and here’s why.

the hybrid trilogy

First of all I am totally digging the plot surrounding our Main Character Aria Negrescu, again it’s a story about an orphan who grew up in a foster home and she suddenly gets accepted to a college she didn’t apply to. In the mean time she’s being hunted by a mysterious magical hunter created by Witches. A handsome stranger helps her to survive and a well known character from the Guardian Series called Nico (former Vampire) together with the handsome stranger Damian protect her from unseen magical forces. The chemistry between Damian and Aria is alive and well written, you automatically wish for them to become a couple – but surprise surprise Nico is also still in the picture. The cliche love triangle story starts yet again – AND I LOVE IT. I won’t tell you more about the plot, but there are some amazing twists and insights in the paranormal world DeRosa created in this series.

Second of all the book cover triggered me immediately! It screams sassy heroine slash badass magical creature.

Is the story fast paced? Unfortunately yes. The “supernatural dark secrets” unravel a bit too fast for my liking in addition to some of the scenes, but other than that I am totally into the story. So I don’t mind that much.

This really is a great book series to read if you like Urban Fantasy books by WJ May or Richelle Mead for instance. I gave a 5-star review for this book series on Goodreads. Let me know what you guys think about this series!
